It's no secret that research begins and often ends on the Internet. (source: GALE website). Using online sources is informative and fun. You might see great photos to enhance the text. There may be an interactive feature or cool alternative links. Chances are that you'll get excited about learning!
Your Assignment: Once a month you will have an opportunity to research one of the "burning" questions you have about 7th grade life science or maybe you'll just be inspired to find out more about a science topic that has caught your attention. You'll share your research with your classmates at Mrs. Kinkle's Blog. After posting Mrs. Kinkle will select a few of the posts to publish on our "Hot Topics in Life Science" E-zine.
Goals:
To use online publications to answer lab and class discussion inquiries or just find out more about a life science topic that interests you.
To develop knowledge and skills for life long learning using the Internet.
To share knowledge of and enthusiasm for science concepts and science current events with classmates using a NEWSBLOG format.
This self-motivated learning activity will help you develop the skills and enthusiasm necessary to become a life-long learner who can think critically, solve problems, and work collaboratively.
Each blog post should include four components: an eye-catching title, a summary of your reference article. (Do not cut and paste an article - summarize in your own words.) Next, include a reason why this topic is interesting or important and your source.
Type your blog response into a MSWord Document, check your grammar and spelling. Then, cut and paste your blog response into the comment box of Mrs. Kinkle's blog.
Now - let's get started on our science blog!
